Title: Consulting Utility Forester

Type: Full Time

Reports To: Lead Consulting Utility Forester/Regional Supervisor

Through these services, CNUC is committed to serving utilities, UVM service providers and other industry stakeholders.  As our company continues to grow, new opportunities are becoming available.  CN Utility Consulting is currently seeking a Consulting Utility Forester in the Reno, NV area. 

Responsibilities:

  • Identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines
  • Submit inspection results to utility clients with remediation recommendations
  • Extensive drive time through the state inspecting vegetation management work
  • Additional tasks such as safety audits, unit reporting accuracy, and accounting accuracy may be assigned
  • Assistance may be required during major storm events
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements: 

  • Degree in forestry or related field and/or experience in utility/gas vegetation management is desired
  • Must obtain ISA Arborist Certification within 6 months upon job offer
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Species identification skills and knowledge of tree growth rates
  • Ability to work independently with good time management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weather
  • Proficient in map navigation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and data collection software (GIS experience a plus)
