The Importance of UAA Regional Meetings
October proved to be an impactful month as regional meetings took place in Oregon, Ohio, New York, and Georgia. These gatherings serve as vital platforms for learning, networking, and sharing innovative practices in the industry.
In Buffalo, New York, attendees engaged in discussions on program development for hazardous trees and underground utility vegetation management, while also participating in safety panels and recognizing tree workers’ contributions. In Oregon at the Western Regional, exciting demonstrations of computer vision and AI technology on drones, and in Carrollton, Georgia, a live line demo at Carroll Electric Cooperative, showcasing advancements in safety and efficiency, in addition to exploring next-gen telematics and making meaningful customer connections through trees.
Davey Resource Group’s Paul Hurysz, a UAA Past-President and presenter in Ohio, expressed his appreciation to share industry knowledge.
“I enjoy these meetings more than you will ever know,” Hurysz said. “I am absolutely motivated to see lightbulbs go off in the heads of professionals when they are challenged to think differently about safety. Before work can be designed differently, and even before we learn differently, we must accomplish the task of beginning to think differently. Beliefs + Behaviors + Results = Performance.”
This sentiment highlights the importance of regional meetings in fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Stay tuned for announcements on future regional meetings in the Monthly Update, social media, and the Member Portal.
