Please submit your proposals here.
The Environmental Concerns in Rights-of-Way Management 14th International Symposium (ROW) is also accepting submissions for papers until March 31, 2025. This event focuses on key issues within the rights-of-way industry, providing a platform for professionals to present their research and insights. If you have research, case studies, or best practices to share, make sure to submit your paper before the deadline.
“The ROW14 event will be a celebration of 50 years of learning over the past, present and future,” says UAA President Dennis Fallon. “The transition of power generation to low carbon and no carbon sources will drive significant rights-of-way management work over the next 30 years. ROW14 is the perfect event to learn about the most current environmental sustainability research.”
Dean Mutrie, Vice President of major projects at TERA Environmental Consultants in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, had an active career in the industry from 1973 to 2016. Mutrie says ROW provided the opportunity for professionals to compare best practices, learn from others, and collaborate with colleagues across the continent on environmental protections.
“The symposium was the place where North American practitioners discovered cutting-edge research and environmental solutions they could immediately apply to their projects,” says Mutrie. “Before the internet, this is where I first learned about game-changing techniques like fluming, directional drilling, and environmental inspectors on powerline construction.”
Members, keep your eyes open for the March/April issue of the Newsline, for an article on rights of way from Dennis Fallon. Then, mark your calendars for May 11 – 14, 2026, when we’ll meet at the ROW 14 symposium in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Essential Webinars for Arboriculture and Pollinator Conservation
Stay ahead of the curve, improve your practices, and earn CEUs by attending two valuable webinars, each focusing on critical topics in safety and environmental monitoring:
Webinar 1: ANSI Z133-2025: What You Need to Know
Date: Wednesday, February 19, 2025 | Time: 1:00-2:00 PM EST
This session is essential for arboriculture professionals to stay updated on the new ANSI Z133-2025 safety standards. Explore key updates on PPE, aerial lifts, electrical hazards, and chainsaw safety, and learn practical tools for ensuring compliance and improving field safety.
