The Environmental Concerns in Rights of Way (ROW) 14th International Symposium achieves a milestone next year—its 50th anniversary.
With the event a little more than a year away, speakers who plan to present at ROW 14 reflect on the vital role it plays in advancing the utility industry.
“Our mission is to support scientific research and education programs that advance knowledge in arboriculture and urban forestry,” says Paul Putman, president & CEO of the TREE Fund. “Disseminating research is crucial because it empowers professionals, policymakers, and the public with the latest findings and best practices.
“The Rights-of-Way Symposium doesn’t occur every year, and this is the perfect venue to have this conversation about where we are heading together.”
Since 1976, this symposium has grown into the premier global forum for utility industry professionals to gather, collaborate, and share research focused on balancing infrastructure needs with environmental preservation.
Dr. Anand Persad, of Tetra Energy Sciences, highlights ROW 14’s significance as a space for innovation.
“It’s a premier science and conservation meeting in our industry,” Persad adds. “The community of professionals in attendance will be a good soundboard for advancing science. The more we share, the more we learn, and as a community, we can raise the bar for innovation.”
Ashley Bennett is a senior research scientist from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and equally motivated about the potential to combine efforts with attendees.
“Few conferences offer the chance to disseminate research to industry practitioners that can directly implement research findings,” says Bennett.
Those who have witnessed the symposium’s evolution over the years believe that the ROW forum can serve its intended purpose and so much more.
“With rapidly evolving environmental concerns, this symposium is the perfect venue to bring leaders from industry and ROW research together to learn how best to meet the growing energy and transportation demands,” adds UAA Executive Director Dennis Fallon, “while ensuring we’re protecting and enhancing our natural resources for generations to come.”
Join us at ROW14 in Vancouver, British Columbia, from May 11-14, 2026, and be part of this historic moment in environmental and utility management.
