The UAA will begin accepting applications in February for the annual Nelsen Money Memorial Scholarship Program. There are two awards available to qualified individuals – $2,500 and $1,200 – to cover program costs at an accredited college or university and attendance at the annual Trees & Utilities Conference.
Pam Money, wife of the late Nelsen Money, says this scholarship was designed to help students achieve goals related to their studies of utility arboriculture, and also presents a unique opportunity to honor Nelsen’s dedication to the industry, his accomplishments and how he truly was a mentor at heart.
“I would encourage anyone who has a colleague, a friend, a student or knows of someone in school in a forestry or natural resources program to talk to them about utility arboriculture as a career and this opportunity for financial support,” says Pam Money. “I think it’s a great way to help people out. The more people we have that apply for these scholarships further promotes the industry.”
The application process opens February 15, 2023 through April 15, 2023. Check out the specific details and requirements for the scholarship award.
