The annual Trees & Utilities Conference hosted by the UAA and the Arbor Day Foundation is only one month away.
Help us make an impact while you’re there and support two important fundraisers:
UAA Silent Auction
A new addition to the conference in Pittsburgh is the 1st Annual Silent Auction to help boost funding for the UAA’s Nelsen Money Scholarship Program and reforestation efforts for the Arbor Day Foundation. A number of companies on the exhibit hall/trade floor will have auction items on display at their booths for review.
“The number of contributions continues to grow and some items up for bid are made up of several components,” says Craig Kelly, auction co-coordinator. “For instance, Nelsen Money was known to perform regular aquatic studies (he was an avid fisherman) and several of the donations for this auction clearly celebrate his personality and hobbies.”
Bidders participate by scanning the QR code at each of the participating booths to create an account and place their bids by credit card. People are encouraged to bid on as many items as they like. Winners will be notified by e-mail.
The auction opens at 11:00 a.m. (EDT) Tuesday, September 12, and closes promptly at 3:00 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, September 13. Look for more instructions on silent auction bidding sometime mid-August in an email to registered attendees.
TreeFund Golf Outing
Golfers, what better way to kick off the conference than to help raise money for the TreeFund at Asplundh’s 27th Annual TopGolf Outing, Monday, September 11. Registration has recently been extended to Friday, September 1. Space is unlimited, so what are you waiting for? Make a note to pack your clubs and sign up today.
