The Utility Arborist Association (UAA), the leading organization for individuals and companies that provide professional utility vegetation management services across North America, announces the appointment of Amanda Opp to the UAA Board of Directors.
Her position was effective April 24, 2023, and will run through August, 2025.
Opp is an integrated services manager for Flathead Electric Cooperative in Kalispell, Montana, where she began as a GIS specialist in 2011. She is a Certified Utility Vegetation Management Professional and an online course facilitator for the Utility Vegetation Management Certificate Program at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. Opp’s experience also includes her time as a civil engineer for the U.S. Forest Service working on the Flathead, Bitterroot and Cleveland National Forests.
Amanda has been an active member, speaker and moderator of the Trees & Utilities “Women in Vegetation Management” Workshop. She also serves on the UAA Member Engagement Committee representing cooperatives.
“I am passionate about education and engagement in our industry,” says Opp. “I enjoy serving the UAA and its members, and look forward to this new opportunity on the Board.”
